Responsibilities and Duties

Clinical Duties:

  • Provide advice and treatments in accordance with the GDC, FGDP, BSP and SCDEP guidance
  • To be responsible for the overall delivery of patient care  
  • To provide key messages relating to Oral Health (Delivering Better Oral Health Tool Kit)
  • Treat patients in line with local policies and procedures
  • Ensure HTM 01-05 is followed
  • Providing appropriate level of supervision to dental care professional (DCP) staff
  • Use all equipment and machinery in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations and ensure that they are maintained regularly and in good working order
  • Ensure the welfare of all patients
  • Be familiar and comply with all health and safety rules and guidance, including PPE, COSHH, WHTM-01-05 (WHTM-01-05 in Wales) and appropriate waste disposal etc

Administrative Duties:

  • Liaison with prison health care and admin providers to ensure smooth patient care
  • Accurately complete patient clinical records as directed by the FGDP and local policies 
  • Engage in all aspects of healthcare governance at a personal and organisational level.
  • Be familiar and comply with the CQC/HIW regulations
  • Complete daily tool count
  • To perform routine clerical duties, e.g. appointment book management
  • To check and complete daily tasks on systm one
  • To manage secondary care referrals.
  • To manage DNA’s and complete letters where appropriate to do so. 
  • To manage patient complaints
  • To report, file and log incidents as required
  • To undergo training as required to develop your skills and abilities
  • To assist with staff induction, training and peer review
  • To keep ECPD up to date

Qualifications and Skills

  • GDC Registered
  • NHS Performer Number
  • 2 years post qualified  
  • Dental Indemnity Insurance

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Keep the clinical areas and equipment clean, tidy and sterile.
  • Ensuring CQC requirements are met and complied with.
  • Providing clinical chairside support to the dentist.
  • Maintaining stock levels of consumables within clinic.
  • Setting up and decontamination of instruments.
  • Maintaining and updating patient records.
  • Completing monthly company performance reports.
  • Ensure the care and wealth of patients.
  • Be familiar and comply with all health and safety rules including PPE, COSHH, Infection control and waste disposal.
  • Attend and complete training in line with the GDC registration requirements.
  • Completing laboratory requests forms.
  • Other duties as required for the efficient operation of the service.

We are currently seeking a fully qualified Dentist with a minimum of 2 years post graduate experience to join our Midlands and North team as a regional float dentist. This is a great opportunity for a skilled Dentist to develop through working in a number of different establishments and within multiple teams. 

The position will be based across all of our contracts at sites within the Midlands and North areas covering holidays,sickness and other sessions as required. You will be contracted to 4 days and work across the agreed areas as required.
